We were able to eat to our heart's delight and take some home (for $1.oo/pound) and they are organic. (What could be wrong with them?). I am making jam today with the 4 pounds we took home. I am going to try this recipe.

Strawberry Fields Forever

Let me know how it turns out for you. I had trouble with strawberry jam, it never set right for me and was always too wet. My mom told me that you should spread it out on a baking sheet and let it "dry" for a little bit before canning it, and that should help it set better, but I didn't try that method.
ReplyDeleteI put in half of the sugar and it turned out more like sirop which is fantastic on ice-cream or crepes. The baking sheet sounds strange to me but why not?!
